Release note

3D studio, more video formats, and smarter AI

A 3D graphics studio with model import, transparent WebM plus MOV and MKV support, Claude and custom-model AI options with live web search, a rebuilt mobile layout, and a long list of fixes.

This is the biggest update since launch. Fiivo can now build real 3D scenes, open far more video files, and talk to a wider range of AI models, and the editor itself is steadier on every screen size. Fiivo is still in alpha, so please keep reporting what you find.

3D graphics studio

  • Three.js code studio — write 3D graphics in code and see them render live in the preview, alongside the existing 2D code graphics.
  • Import your own models — drop in .glb or .gltf files. Fiivo adds a ready-to-edit starter scene so a model appears straight away, with its original colors and textures.
  • Visual scene graph — build a 3D scene with connected nodes instead of writing everything by hand, and switch to code whenever you want more control.
  • Cleaner scene updates — editing your code now rebuilds the scene from scratch, so old objects no longer pile up behind the new ones.
  • 3D graphics are functional but newer than the rest of the editor, so expect rough edges.

More video formats

  • Transparent WebM now works — clips with a transparent background (VP9 or VP8 with alpha) import, preview and export with their transparency intact.
  • MOV and MKV support — H.264 files in .mov and .mkv containers now work in the timeline and in export. Files whose type your system does not report, which is common for .mkv on Windows, are recognised by their extension.
  • Silent clips export correctly — video files with no audio track, such as screen recordings and transparent overlays, no longer stop an export with an audio error.
  • Clear message for Apple ProRes — browsers cannot play ProRes, so Fiivo now tells you when you import one and shows the exact command to convert it to a transparent WebM or an MP4.

AI assistant

  • Claude and custom models — the Custom provider now speaks both OpenAI-style and Anthropic (Claude) APIs. Pick the format, or let Fiivo detect it, and use your own base URL, model id and key. There is also a one-click Claude preset.
  • Auto mode cycles through models — Auto tries Gemini 3.8 Flash, then Gemini 3.5 Flash-Lite, then Groq, then Agnes, until one answers.
  • Your chosen model is respected — if you pick a model in Settings, Fiivo uses only that model. If it fails you see the real error and a pop-up that suggests other models to try, and your message is sent again when you choose one.
  • Live web search on more models — Live web grounding works with Gemini, Groq, Agnes and custom endpoints. When Fiivo's shared search credits run low, you get a pop-up with options: add your own Tavily, SerpAPI or Exa key, switch to a Google model, or continue without search.
  • Easier to find settings — opening the assistant now shows a short tip about choosing your model and bringing your own keys.
  • Better starter prompts — the three example prompts now show off custom code graphics, 3D scenes and custom transitions, including a chat-app launch film.
  • Safer custom endpoints — custom base URLs must be public HTTPS addresses.
  • Fixes — models that printed their search request as text instead of using it are now handled, and the assistant shows why a reply was not grounded when Live web was on.

Editor and interface

  • Rebuilt small-screen layout — a steadier editor on phones, tablets and small laptops, with a header that no longer overflows and layouts that respect on-screen browser bars.
  • Themed assistant sidebar — the blur behind the AI sidebar now follows every theme.
  • Welcome note — first-time visitors see a short note from the developer, with a link to feedback.
  • Keyboard shortcuts — Delete and S now keep working after you click buttons or clips, instead of needing a deselect and reselect.
  • Feedback — the feedback page now sends your report straight to the developer by form or email. The GitHub issue option is gone, since the repository is private.

Known limits

  • Apple ProRes files must be converted before use.
  • Exporting long transparent WebM clips is slower than regular clips, because each frame is captured by the browser.
  • Small AI models can make mistakes in code graphics. Generate first, then use Tweak with AI on the graphic that needs fixing.

Thank you to everyone trying Fiivo this early. Write to contact@fiivo.xyz, I would love to hear what you are making.
