Release note

Sound effects, smarter AI, and a more fluid editor

Fiivo now ships a native sound-effects ecosystem — search Freesound without leaving the editor, let the AI suggest SFX for your script, and enjoy a round of premium animation polish across the whole app.

This update brings Fiivo's audio story full circle. Video editing always needed visuals; from today it has first-class sound too.

Native sound-effect browser

A new Sound FX panel in the assets area lets you search thousands of royalty-free sounds from Freesound without ever leaving the editor:

  • Preview results inline and import approved picks straight onto an audio layer.
  • Every imported effect gets a generated waveform, sensible default fade-in/fade-out envelopes, and clean snapping to the timeline.
  • All searching and downloading is proxied server-side, so CORS rules and API keys never touch your browser. Licences and attribution are stored on each asset automatically.

The AI can now source sound for you

When you generate a project with the assistant, it can suggest matching sound effects for each scene. Suggestions appear as review cards — nothing is imported until you approve each pick. You can also type your own queries into the same card, so you steer the soundtrack while the AI does the legwork.

If you accept suggestions during a generation, one-click chips appear in the Sound FX browser so you can audition the exact searches later.

Premium UI polish

The whole editor got a motion pass:

  • Modals, drawers, and panels now have smooth entrance and exit transitions.
  • Timeline clips, buttons, and inputs respond with refined hover and focus states.
  • Everything animates using only GPU-friendly transforms and opacity, and all of it respects your operating system's reduced-motion preference.

Custom AI providers, fixed

OpenAI-compatible providers configured with your own base URL, model ID, and key now work everywhere — including live web-search generations. Bring any endpoint you like.

As always, everything stays local-first: your media never leaves your machine except for the explicit searches and imports you approve.
